i was thinking about this the other day when my computer died the other week(i will have one as soon as it is sent to me hoping by weekend). so there is the question what can't you do with out cell phone ipod video games computer ect.?

i have found i can't do with out my own computer. sharing is ok for most things but with computer they might not let you download stuff. so for me it is most definitely the computer. i miss chatting with everybody here and on second life. but have faith i shall return for sure i hope by next monday. keep fingers crossed.

Huh, that's a difficult question since I'm kind of obsessed with everything that is even remotely similar to a computer
I guess the most important "gadget" for me is my iPhone (jailbroken of course ) because I can check my mails with it, surf the net etc... which makes me kind of less dependant on a computer... And since I have 6 computer/notebooks/netbooks (lol... I'm a freak, I know^^) it's not that big a problem if one of them breaks. O.o

I don't currently own a laptop, but the device I couldn't do without would have to be my computer. It fulfills so many functions in my life at this point that it takes up more of my time while I'm at home than anything else.

I'd say internet, don't care as much about having my own computer, so long as I can get on the internet somehow, I'm fine. I need the communication and info

A shower. Or more generally, any sort of heating element. There are a lot of household appliances that are important, but no hot water would have the biggest impact I think.

A laptop would be fairly down on my list of things I guess; I have one for work and that couldn't change so I'll always be able to check news and stuff, and I have other things for surfing the web anyway (ipod touch (jailbroken ), phone, and so on). Failing that, I have work and newspapers and the grapevine for hearing stuff :p

But ya, in all honesty I could live without technology probably, I'd love to try living in the middle of the woods for a short while to see how it would be, but other than internet(not really a gadget o.0 XD) I'd say heating/air conditioning too. I can last a long time in the cold, but too long isn't very good, and I can't stand high temperatures at all >.<

You should try Ireland, it's -never- too warm here. We're lucky if it ever breaks 25 celcius, lots of nice outdoors too. I think it's different living in the wilderness to living in a modern place without some gadget or technology; all your priorities are different. Having no vacuum might make cleaning a drudge in a house, but it'd be a blessing in a wood
